Chip-tech, Ltd. was established in 1989 by Robert Silverman with the desire to bring the distribution of electronic components to a new level. In an industry with tens of thousands of manufacturers, engineers and assembly houses Chip-Tech was designed to fill that void created by allocation, obsolescence and shortages in the parts supply line. This philosophy is the very essence of our company motto "Where Supply Meets Demand".

With our experienced purchasing team we are able to source allocated, obsolete and long lead-time products immediately. We will stock and release product on a daily or weekly basis according to our customers schedule. We will lock in and guaranty the price and delivery for the length and quantity of the contract. Our courteous and knowledgeable sales team can help you by offering equivalent products whenever necessary.

Our management team is made up of some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry with more than 200 years experience between them.

  • Robert Silverman, CEO, has been in the industry since 1984. He started with ProComponents before starting Chip-Tech, Ltd in 1989.
  • Barry Lubman, COO, has been in the industry since 1983. Having started with SAI, he founded ProComponents in 1984. In 2004 ProComponents merged with Chip-Tech.
  • Alan Lubman, VP Purchasing, has been in the industry since 1979 with such companies as Trace, SAI and ProComponents.
  • Ivy Raffe, VP, has been with Chip-Tech since its inception and currently manages key accounts.
  • Craig Schortzman, VP Operations, has been in the industry for 46 years with such companies as Tri-Start, Jaco, and MJK. For the last 12 years he has been with Chip-Tech, Ltd. overseeing the day to day operations.
  • Barbara Vanni, Quality Manager has been in the industry for 30 years. Before joining Chip-Tech in 2001 she was with such companies as Tri-Start, Jaco and Kent.
  • Rob Meakin, International Sales Manager, has been in the industry since 1981 as a buyer/ planner for Unisys. In 1990 he switched to distribution and joined ProComponents and now Chip-Tech, where he currently runs our Canadian sales office.

As Chip-Tech grew, Northeast Automation was created bringing specialization in subassemblies, cable assemblies and kitting. Northeast brought to the marketplace a dual advantage for Chip-Tech. It not only broadened the range of customers that Chip-Tech can service, it increased the products available to existing customers.

Chip-Tech certifies that all products included in each shipment are in accordance with requirements, specifications and drawings referenced. In the event that Chip-Tech replaces a specified part with an alternate part, we guarantee 100% that the replacement part will perform, fit, form and function.
